The TecSpecs concept was developed from a need to have a pair of athletic sunglasses that would stay comfortably in place while being worn in even the most vigorous of sports.
The unique patented flip up, flip down TS2000 platform has taken athletic sunglasses to a new level of capability and sophistication. The retract mechanism which powers the lens to the up and down position provides an infinitely variable force so smooth that the "feel" of this action has been described as a fluid, or hydraulic smoothness, and conveys a sense of the quality precision involved in the operation.
Comfort and fit were of paramount importance in the TecSpecs design. The elastic strap has an easily adjusted slider to comfortably fit all sizes and shapes of heads. Additional adjustability is provided for the lens location relative to the face. A simple but effective "push/pull" adjustment in the lens arms allows you to move the lens closer or farther from the face with a "click lock" design that keeps the lens secure once adjustment is made. Three lens positions are provided to accommodate the many different sizes and shapes of faces. The center and outermost positions are usually used to accommodate our prescription lens inserts. Even the nosepiece is adjustable to assure a perfect fit.
Prescription frames inserts are a terrific way of quickly and easily installing your prescription into any of our quality lens. Once you have the basic TS2000 platform, you can select any of our four lens colors to fit whatever light conditions your sport requires. This arrangement allows you to easily switch your prescription insert from one lens to another. One prescription fits all! You simply snap out the regular nosepiece, and snap in the prescription lens insert. It's that easy! I wear mine every time I play and I love 'em. They are a great, inexpensive way to have many different sunglass lenses with only one prescription cost. We send you your insert, your eyewear specialist inserts your prescription lenses, and you're good to go! (Remember, we are a small company. Space age materials were used through out the design, and the result is a unit so lightweight that TecSpecs floats in water! For example, the platform is made of Zytel nylon, as well as all the associated parts. The lens is made of optical quality polycarbonate, and the elastic strap is made of a special blend of lightweight synthetic fibers to resist sweat and maintain elastic integrity. The foam insert is
closed cell Neoprene that is aerated for lightweight and comfort. The comfort of TecSpecs is a natural product of the design.
The lens is made of virtually unbreakable, shatterproof polycarbonate and exceeds ANSI
Z87.1-1989 and ASTM F803.94 requirements. It blocks 100% of UVA and 100% of UVB.
